Barbara Jean Scott McLarty

Saltillo - Barbara Jean Scott McLarty, 73, passed away peacefully, following a lengthy illness, at her home on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 4, 1953, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Cecil Scott and Bobbi Bohannon, Barbara was a dedicated and hard worker throughout her life.

For many years, she was a valued employee at Innocor, now FXI, in Baldwyn. She truly loved her job, but held an even deeper affection for the lifelong friends and colleagues she made there before health challenges led to her retirement.

Above all, Barbara cherished the simple, beautiful moments in life. She found immense joy in caring for all of her beloved fur babies, sitting outside on quiet mornings drinking coffee with her husband, Ronald, watching the hummingbirds, and taking immense pride in being the absolute best Mamaw she could possibly be to her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Ronald McLarty; daughter, Machelle Raper of Saltillo; two brothers, Ray Scott (Tina) of Horn Lake, and Billy Wayne of Longview, Texas; along with a slew of cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends; and a special aunt, Brenda Turner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Bobbi Scott; brother, Jimmy; sisters, Linda, Pam, and Pat; two beloved sons, Willard and Chad; and granddaughter, Nicole.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public viewing or formal service. The family appreciates your thoughts, prayers, and love during this time as they remember and celebrate her life in their hearts. Pegues Funeral Directors have been entrusted with the care of her arrangements.
