Anna Yancey

Mooreville

Tupelo—Anna Elizabeth Yancey, age 77, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on January 1, 2024 at her daughter’s home.  Born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 17, 1946, she was the daughter of Alva and Gladis Orsborn Landers.  Following the unexpected death of Anna’s mother, she was raised by her aunt, Ethel Hankins. Anna earned a degree in  nursing from Itawamba Junior College.  For many years she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at North Mississippi Medical Center and at Traceway Retirement Community where she touched many lives.  Anna was married to her late husband, Randy Yancey, for 24 years. She was a member of Skyline Church of Christ.

Anna leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Melanie McGreger of Houlka and Marsha Herndon (Kim) of Mooreville; four grandchildren, Steven Straily (Bonnie), Robert Holley (Phyllis), Matthew Herndon (Courtenay), and Morgan Herndon; and three great-grandchildren, Bo Holley, Rhylee Holley, and Sutton Herndon.

The family will honor Anna’s memory with a visitation at Skyline Church of Christ on January 13, 2024 from 10 a.m. until noon and will hold a private graveside service at Spring Hill Cemetery.  Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.
