ANITA POSEY
OKOLONA – Anita Posey, age 58, passed away on June 8, 2025. She was born on July 14, 1966, to Ray and Carol Posey.
Anita was a vibrant spirit who lived life fully and on her own terms. She had a deep love for the outdoors—riding four-wheelers, hunting (especially deer), and casting a line on peaceful fishing trips. Her adventurous side was matched by her impeccable sense of style and her passion for shopping, particularly for shoes and purses.
A devoted mother, Anita cherished every moment spent with her children during their younger years. Whether she was chasing them through the yard with frogs, teaching them about nature, or simply enjoying a quiet evening together, her love and joy in motherhood were always evident.
Anita also enjoyed dressing up in her favorite outfits and treating herself to meals at her favorite Mexican restaurants. She brought sparkle and laughter wherever she went and leaves behind memories filled with warmth, adventure, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Anita is survived by her fiancé, Steve Ratliff; daughters, Nicole McCauley of Booneville, Mississippi, Crystal Hall (Johnny) of Nettleton, Mississippi, Pamela Ridge (Steven Mayo) of New Albany, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, AJ Nevarro, Lexi McCauley, Ethan McCauley, Dylan Ridge, Sawyer Ridge, Jayce Ridge, and Grayson Ridge; sister, Tonya Poe (Robert) of Blue Springs, MS; brother, Bobby Lee Posey of Mooreville, Mississippi; special sissy, Nancy Harris; and grandbaby Belle.
Anita is preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
