Amanda White

June 18, 1982 — October 19, 2023

Saltillo-Amanda Gail White passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an unexpected illness. She was 41 years old. Amanda was born in Tupelo on June 18, 1982 and was the daughter of Billy and Barbara Coggins. Even as a child, Amanda possessed a kind and giving spirit which remained in her as an adult, always putting the needs of others before her own. After graduating from Saltillo High School, she proudly earned an associate's degree from Itawamba Community College. Amanda worked as the Front End Assistant Leader for Kroger where she served her customers and coworkers with the same dedication. She will be remembered as an excellent wife and mother fiercely protective of her family, always ensuring they were happy and well taken care of. Her greatest joy came from the cherished moments spent with her family who will miss her beyond what words can express.

Amanda leaves behind her husband of 17 years, Drew White of Saltillo; her children, Abby and Cole; her parents, Billy and Barbara Coggins; and a sister, Amy Mitchell and her husband, Chad of Columbia, Tennessee; her mother-in-law, Sheila Jinkins and husband, Terry; brother-in-law, Austin White and his wife, Kimberly; sister-in-law, Bre Copeland and her husband, Casey; stepbrother-in-law, Cody Jinkins; and stepsister-in-law, Claire Phillips and her husband, Zach.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joshua Coggins.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Pegues, Saltillo.

A celebration of Amanda’s selfless life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Terry Myhand and Bro. Cody Bullock officiating. Graveside services will follow at Unity Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Mitchell, Zach Phillips, Brian Siddall, Casey Copeland, Cody Jinkins, Scott Siddall, Daniel Williams, and Andrew Siddall. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin White, Bubba Cates, and Lee Huffman.
