Wilma Kelly

Tupelo - Wilma Octavia Hart Kelly, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 26, 2019. On July 26, 1925, she was born to Robert Lugustus Enlo Hart and Mary Davis Hart of Pinson, Tennessee. She married her husband of  49 years, Alfred P. Kelly, on May 9, 1942. Mother loved her Lord, her family and her many friends. Nothing gave her greater joy than to be doing something for someone else.  Her hobby was to work outside and she dearly loved to mow.  Also as long as she could see well, especially during the winter months, she loved to put puzzles together after she had read her Bible. She was a lifelong member of Locust Hill Baptist Church where she was the oldest member.

She is survived by her only daughter, Joyce East (Elon) of Tupelo; her second caregiver and beloved granddaughter, Michelle Otts (Jeff) of Tupelo; great-granddaughter,  Kelsey Otts Berkes "Periwinkle” (Tim) of Tupelo; great-great-grandson, Hudson Tate Berkes, who was her pride and joy the last year of her life; grandson, Wayne Kelly (Samantha) and their daughter, Aubree of Mantachie;  granddaughter, Stephanie Cagle (Jerrod) and their three children, Jake, Casey and Jade of Baldwyn; Lane’s children, Josh and Catilyn Kelly of Arlingtion, Tenn. and their mother, Elizabeth Young (Christian); mother of Kenneth’s children, Sherry Johnson (Bro. Lowell Johnson) of Tupelo; nephew, Roger Hart (Tammy) of Saltillo; sister-in-law, Faye Hart of  Bend, Oregon; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she dearly love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred P. Kelly; two sons, Alfred Wayne Kelly and Bro. Kenneth Lane Kelly; grandson, Kenneth Lane Kelly, II; parents; and brothers and sisters, as she was the last remaining sibling, Cozelle Harmon, Laura Sleeter, Pearl Treat, Maggie Doyle, Enlo Hart, Roy Hart, George Hart, Annie Jean Gentry and baby sister, Emma Susan.

Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo and 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday, May 29, 2019.

Services honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Bobby Holland, Rev. Lowell Johnson and Rev. Ray Ware officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Otts, Tim Berkes, Josh Kelly, and Jerrod, Jake and Casey Cagle.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Locust Hill Baptist Church.
