William Eugene "Bill" Earwood



Tupelo - William Eugene "Bill" Earwood, 86, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017, at home after an extended illness. Mr. Earwood was born December 2, 1930, to William Edgar and Ann Haney Earwood. He graduated from Memphis Tech High School in 1949 and prior to retirement was a salesman for Barton Equipment and Scribner Equipment. He was a long time member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.



Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lorene Strain Earwood to whom he married on January 11, 1950; sons, Michael Earwood (Peggy) of Memphis Tennessee, David Earwood (Diane) of Columbus, and Philip Earwood (Gina) of Tupelo; grandsons, Jay Earwood (Ashley), Brian Earwood (Kayla), Brad Earwood (Sally), Kevin Earwood (Ashley), Will Earwood, and Matt Earwood; granddaughters, Sarah Miller (Stephan), Leanne Tucker (Andrew), Abby and Emma Earwood; great-grandchildren, Justin, Shannon and Anne Lowry Earwood, Anna and Haley Studdard, Jake and Ben Newman, James Miller, and Alston and Aden Tucker.



He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Marianne Earwood and brothers, Robert and Dick Earwood.



Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with visitation one hour prior to service time. Rev. David Smith will be officiating and graveside services will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.



Pallbearers will be his grandsons.



The family would like to give special thanks to his caregiver, Gina Goff, his hospice nurse, Sheila Tackett and the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice staff.
