Obituary for Wayne K. Piatt Saltillo - Wayne K.Piatt, Jr. 54, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at his residence in the Birmingham Ridge Community. He was born in Davenport, Iowa on September 29, 1956 to Wayne Kenneth and Bonita Kathryn Gardner Piatt. He was a graduate of Itawamba Community College with a degree in tool and die. He owned and operated Ks Tobacco and Brew in Saltillo and New Albany. He was an active and faithful member of Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, enjoyed rock and indian arrow hunting and was also a recommended black belt of Taekwondo from the Pinsons Ata Blackbelt Academy in Saltillo. He loved his family and especially his daughter and was very much a part of her life. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in Old Birmingham Ridge Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Nadia Piatt of the Birmingham Ridge Community; one daughter, Kathryn Piatt of the home; two sons, Fahad Ali of Dubai and Asad Ali of the Birmingham Ridge Community; three sisters, Cynthia Whitlock (Bill) of Adkins, Texas, Janice Hantsbarger (Al) of Lake Balboa, California, Toni Arnold (Robert) of Davenport, Iowa; one step-brother, Shane Conner (Missy); one step-sister, Amanda Baker (Nick) both of Davenport, Iowa; his step-mother, Penny Alpen (Ron) of Durant, Iowa; several uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and a great nephew all of the Davenport, Iowa area. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonita Piatt on December 10, 2009; his father, Wayne Piatt, Sr. on September 29, 2004; his brother, Craig Piatt on July 21, 2010. Pallbearers will be Asad Ali, Rick Piatt, Ron Alpen, Shane Conner, Bill Whitlock, Wes Khalil, Joe Mitchell, Richard Fitz. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Saltillo Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church, 670 Rd 253, Saltillo, MS 38866. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com
