Obituary for W. L. Walls Tupelo E. L. Walls, 74, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks after an extended illness. A Pontotoc native, he was born December 14, 1936 to Bera and Annie Mae Simmons Walls. He served eight years with the 155th Unit of The National Guard. Heloved to spending time keeping his car clean and drinking coffee with his buddies. He was the former owner of Tupelo Bus Lines. By faith, he was Pentacostal. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Mark Williams officiating. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of nearly 56 years, Sue Walls of Tupelo; one daughter, Debbie Merchant (Doug) of Nettleton; two sons, Terry Walls and Perry Walls of Tupelo; one brother, Wayne Walls (Sue) of Baldwyn; one sister, Jo Maroney (Jerry) of Daleville, Alabama; one sister-in-law Doris Mayhall of Fulton; three grandchildren, Susan Smith and finace Toby Lansdell of Nettleton, Chris Merchant (Sunny Traylor) of Nettleton and Brad Merchant (Bre) of Nettleton; seven great-grandchildren, Mikey Smith, Braden Merchant, Katlin Smith, Lexi Merchant, Briley Merchant, Luke Merchant and Jonathan Merchant. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Carl Brandon; and one infant son. Pallbearers will be Brad Merchant, Chris Merchant, Doug Merchant, Mikey Smith, Toby Lansdell and Matt Merchant. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com
