Vaudery O’Neal Turner, Jr., 57 passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Baldwyn on October 11, 1959 to Vaudery O’Neal, Sr. and Ellar Faye Gattis Turner. He worked for Lee County Solid Waste on the back of the garbage truck for 11 years until he was unable to work. Vaudery, or as he was more affectionately know, “Pea Brain” loved to fish, hunt, go camping and working on his pick-up truck. He loved his family and his dogs. He was a member of Saltillo First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his sister, Ellar Janie Capps (Donnie) of Saltillo, mother, Ellar Faye Turner and nephews, James Ross Capps (Ashley) of Saltillo and Jonathan Capps (Cheryl) of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Freemon and Sarah Gattis.
Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green and Rev. Bill Bass officiating. Graveside services will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Huey Armstrong, Patrick Armstrong, James Green, Ken Stanford, Earl Capps and Tony Armstrong.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Capps and J. R. Green.
