Thelma Robbins "Mamaw" died on her 99th birthday Sunday, March 10, 2019 at her daughter's residence surrounded by her loving children. A native of Okolona, she was born March 10, 1920, to Charlie and Edna Maggie Hester Williams and was a graduate of Okolona High School. Later in life, she spent four years in Colorado and about 22 years in Texas. She was an exceptional mother who spent her life caring for and nurturing her family. Thelma had the most welcoming heart and loved hosting people in her home and sharing her great food and wisdom. Thelma was truly an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed sewing, drawing, quilting, flower gardening and sitting on the porch bird watching. She was an avid reader and especially loved reading her Bible. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Knight of Tupelo; five sons, Dalton Christian of Okolona, DeVan Christian (Annie) of Tupelo, Tommy Christian (Denise) of Tupelo, Paul Christian of Okolona and Ricky Christian (Cindy) of New Site; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and special daughter-in-law, Jan Robbins of Bryan, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Edna Williams; her first husband, Coy D. Christian who died May 27, 1967; second husband, Willard S. Robbins who died in October 17, 1995; two sisters; and six brothers; son-in-law, Bob Knight; daughter-in-law, Brenda Christian; and granddaughter, Lana Christian.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Jimmy Webb officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Scott Christian, Jeff Christian, Clay Knight, Cody Christian, Conor Christian and Brian Christian.

The service will be live streamed and recorded for those who may not be able to attend at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
