SIMON “SLIM” WILSON



Unity Community – Simon Riley Wilson, 70, passed away April 12, 2017 at his home. He was born on May 7, 1946 to John T. and Audrey Spradling Willson. He served his country in the United States Army as supply clerk during Vietnam War. On February 8, 1968, he married Sandra Wilson in Virginia. He was the co-owner of 45 Machine and Tool until his retirement at the age of 62. Simon loved coon and deer hunting and fishing. He thoroughly enjoyed putting out a garden every year and cooking. Simon loved his family, especially his twin granddaughters. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.



Survivors include his wife, Sandra Rosalie Wilson; son, Stephen Roy Wilson (Wendy) of Unity Community; twin granddaughters, Melina Olivia and Katrina Brooke Wilson; brothers, John Gerald Wilson (Kay) of Unity Community and William Leonard “Bull” Wilson (Vicky) Itawamba; sister, Willie Laverne Nanney of Tupelo; brothers-in-law, Pat Stella (Kim) of Pennsylvania and Tony Stella (Terri) of Alabama and a host of nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Theran Wilson and sister, Annie Quay Wilson.



Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2017 at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo.



Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Rodney Lindsey, Rev. Guyton Hinds and Rev. Eddie Boutwell officiating.



Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Minor, Wayne Minor, Mike Ellis, James Hinds, Stanley Ratliff and Mitchell Pettigo.
