Sarah P. Barclay

Sarah Barclay   Tupelo, formerly of McNairy, Tennessee - Sarah Pauline Barclay, 88, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born November 4, 1928, to Sherman D. and Ruby Smith. She was the first person in her family to go to college and received her master's degree from the University of Tennessee. Sarah married Colonel Bruce Barclay in 1952. She was an Air Force wife and traveled with her husband to multiple countries. Sarah retired as a Senior English teacher from McNairy Central High School in Tennessee. She was Presbyterian by faith. Sarah had a passion for reading, the arts and education.   Survivors include her daughter, Karen Barclay of Tupelo.   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Wilburn Smith and Farrell H.
