Reed Attaway

Obituary for Reed Attaway Tupelo - Herbert Reed Attaway, 83, died Monday, December 26, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born May 31, 1928, in the Liberty Community of Itawamba County, to Claude Lee and Rebecca Sloan Attaway. He worked 18 years for Pennsylvania Tire and retired from Jesco Inc. He enjoyed working in his shop and in his yard and garden. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Marion (Bob) of Saltillo; one son, Randy Attaway of Saltillo; the mother of his children, Nell Wise of Memphis; two step-children, Janice Whitten (Rob) of Tupelo and Tim Tucker of Ohio; two granchildren, Misty Attaway and Dakota Attaway; special friend, Christine Childers and her children and grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine Sheffield Attaway; a son, Jimmy Attaway and a brother, Ruble Attaway. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
