Perrin Snipes

PERRIN SNIPES   Evergreen Community - Edward Perrin Snipes, 77, passed away January 7, 2017 at home in the Evergreen Community. He was born December 18, 1939, the oldest son of W.R. and Opha Edwards Snipes. Perrin attended Mooreville Schools and IJC. On September 5, 1959, he married Barbara Sample Snipes. He was a cattle farmer and livestock dealer. Perrin enjoyed gardening, meeting friends at the Gathering, and playing bingo in Nettleton. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.   Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Private family graveside services will follow visitation at Homeside Cemetery with Rev. Mike Yielding officiating.   Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Barbara Snipes of the Evergreen Community; daughter, Denise Woolven (Kelly); sons, Randy Snipes (Sheree), Matt Snipes (Cindy) and Will Snipes (Cheryl) all of the Evergreen Community; brother, Dr. Dwight Snipes (Laurie) of Atlanta, Georgia; five granddaughters, three grandsons, two step-granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and his church family at Evergreen Baptist Church.   He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Gayle Westmoreland and Rita Snipes and brother, Donald Snipes.   Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.   Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Evergreen Baptist Church.   Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
