Pauline Scruggs

Obituary for Pauline Scruggs Saltillo - Sarah Pauline Scruggs, 90, died Sunday, December 25, 2011, at her residence. A Lee County native and lifelong resident of Saltillo, she was born February 7, 1921, to Bill and Myrtis Carr Barnes. She was a homemaker, but had also worked a number of years at Playcraft Manufacturing. She enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, and spending time with family. She was a member of East Main Church of Christ. She was the widow of Tommy Scruggs who also died on Christmas Day in 1974. Private graveside services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Beech Springs Cemetery with Minister Troy McNutt officiating. W.E. Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include three sons, James Scruggs (Martha) of Saltillo; Terry Scruggs (Penny) of Madison, Ala., and Kyle Scruggs of Saltillo; one sister, Billie Sue McCullough of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Jennifer Michelle Scruggs of Saltillo, Sarah Rosemary Bynum and Thomas Scruggs, both of Madison, Ala.; one great-granddaughter, Aubrie Rose Bynum; and a number of nieces and nephews; and her caregivers with Gentiva Hospice, Vangela, Stacy and Shannon. Pallbearers will be her sons, James, Terry, and Kyle Scruggs; and Thomas Scruggs, Andy Barnes, and Allan Erwin. Public visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Salltillo Funeral Home.
