OLA PEARL GARRETT   Shannon - Ola Pearl Garrett, life-long resident of Shannon, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born October 3, 1930, to Archie Cummins and Vera B. Ivy Barnes. She married John W. Garrett November 15, 1947, and they were married for 69 years until his passing on January 11, 2017. Ola Pearl was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She loved spending time with her family. Ola Pearl was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Shannon until her health prevented her attendance.   Survivors include her daughters, Linda McCullough (Daniel) of Brewer and Margaret Chaney (Jimmy) of Plantersville; sons, Richard Garrett (Debbie) of Tupelo and Dan Garrett of Shannon; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Garrett; one son, Butch Garrett and an infant daughter; one grandson, Anthony Chaney; sisters, Marcel Lloyd, Mable Jane Price and Hazel Barnes.   Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.   Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jay Knight officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery.   Pallbearers will be Dan Garrett, Richard Garrett, Chris Nash, Kevin McCullough, Kevin Coker and Joey Elliot.   Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com.
