Norma Ballard Price

Tupelo - Norma Ballard Price, 83, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Magnolia Manor in Tupelo. Norma was born, May 4,1933, in Tupelo to Hoyle Preston and Eula Mae Ballard. Earlier in her life she lived a number of years in Palestine, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona and Lexington, South Carolina before returning to Tupelo in 1947. She was a 1951 graduate of Tupelo High School and attended Itawamba Junior College. Norma worked as a secretary with Blue Bell for 12 years and with the Mississippi State Board of Health for 27 years until her retirement on June 30, 1998. Norma was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church since her childhood and was the piano player for the Stewart Clayton Sunday School Class for many years. She sang in the Second Sunday Singers choir during the 8:30 a.m. worship service. Norma was a charter member of the church's columbarium committee and served on the committee that provided food to the bereaved. Norma loved her cats, her flowers, traveling, First Presbyterian Church and LSU football.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years Jack Price; two sons, David Price of Okolona and Mark Price (Becky Dye) of Tupelo; one daughter, Gayle Price (Ben Dillon) of New York City; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Price (Sarah Stipech) of Cleveland, Ohio and Auden Price-Dillon of New York City; one sister in law, Janie James of Ocala, Florida; special friend and caregiver, Shelia Montgomery of Tupelo; special friend Jackie Haguewood of Tupelo.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one grandson Corbyn Maddox.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church of Tupelo with Dr. Tom Groom and Rev. Ron Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at First Presbyterian Church Columbarium.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
