NANCY LUMSDEN

Saltillo – Nancy Denise Lumsden, 81, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, at her home. She was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on January 13, 1936 to Jack and Mattie Henson Bland. In 1957 she married Robert “Bob” Lumsden. Nancy was a founding member of the Lee County Master Gardeners. She was also a longtime contributor to the Salvation Army’s Empty Bowl project. Nancy loved spending time with her family and loved her pets. Her home was always welcoming to stray animals. She also enjoyed painting, pastels, and sculpture.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bob Lumsden of Saltillo; children, Chris Lumsden (Ginger) of Tupelo, Ben Lumsden (Carol) of Abbeville and Jay Keim (Richard) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sister, Jackie Mahaffey (Jim) of Sherman, Texas; grandson, Drew Lumsden (Alison) of Tupelo and one great-granddaughter, Lilly Lumsden.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Memorials may be made to the Master Gardeners or the Lee County Humane Society, 2400 S Gloster St. Tupelo, MS 38801.
