Motella Horton

Motella Horton   Memphis, Tennessee - Motella Sue Horton, 77, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016. She was born in Wickliffe, Kentucky on January 17, 1939, to Herschel and Thelma France Myers. Motella was a homemaker. She was a very talented seamstress, making her family's clothing and a wonderful cook. Before her health declined, Motella was very involved with Calvary Episcopal Church in Memphis. She was a part of study groups and helped prepare food for church functions.   Survivors include her children, Michael Horton of Nashville, Tennessee, Peter Nathaniel Horton of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Laura Sue Horton of Memphis, Tennessee; sisters, June Kelley of Lake Villa, Illinois, Beverly Hart of Castiac, California, Linda Newcomb of Saltillo and Patsy Alexander of Sherman; brothers, H. F. Myers and Joe T. Myers both of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents and children, Charles, William "Chuck" Horton, James Preston "Jeep" Horton and Frank Lloyd Horton .   Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.
