Brewer Community- Maurice A. Stacy, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born January 10, 1930, to Dewey and Virgie Crenshaw Stacy. Maurice served his country in the United States Marine Corps. In 1955, Maurice married Janie West Stacy; they were married for 61 wonderful years. He worked for Delta Rockwell for many years until his retirement in 1992. Maurice was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include wife, Janie Stacy; sister, Geneva Browning; daughter, Debbie Roberts of Auburn, Alabama; son, Lamar Stacy of Madison, Alabama; grandchildren, Karen Wright of Omaha, Nebraska, Paul Stacy of San Antonio, Texas, Mary Broyles of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Bryan Roberts of Auburn, Alabama, Patrick Roberts of Auburn, Alabama and Kevin Roberts of Auburn, Alabama; step-grandchildren, Matthew Roberts of Birmingham, Alabama, Brittney Roberts of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and great-grandchildren, Vincent Wright and Anthony Wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Stacy and one sister, Wilma Cox.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Paul Sims and Bro. Fred Hartley officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pontotoc County.
Pallbearers will be Larry Gambill, Paul Stacy, Micah Broyles, Bryan Roberts, Patrick Roberts and Kevin Roberts.
