MAURICE KELLUM



Tupelo - Maurice Evelyn Kellum, 89, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017, at the Leeper House at Traceway. She was born in Savage, Mississippi on April 11, 1928, to Joseph Goodall and Ava Mae White Lucas. On Feb 20, 1949, Maurice married Dr. W. C. "Bill" Kellum in Senatobia. They were married until his passing in 2005. Maurice dedicated her life to her husband, raising her children and being active in church activities. She taught Bible class and was very active in World Bible School. It was very important to her that she was able to contribute to ministries in the church even through health difficulties. Maurice was a member of Gloster Street Church of Christ for over 50 years. For the past four years, she attended West Main Church of Christ due to their ministry of taking seniors to church every Sunday.



Survivors include children, Paul Kellum (Pam) of Daphne, Alabama, Dr. Andy Kellum (Donna) of Saltillo, Patti Wilson (Mark) of Morris, Alabama, Debbie Tate (John) of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Ken Kellum (Laura) of Tupelo; daughter-in-law, Becky Kellum of Tupelo; grandchildren, Martha Hovater (Michael), Luke Kellum (Lindsay), Jim Kellum (Sara), Ben Kellum (Rachel), Tim Kellum (Erica), Leigh Kellum, Hillary Kellum, Drew Kellum, Sam Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Kellum Tate, Carter Tate, Hannah Kellum and Caleb Kellum, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Carl Kellum and brother, Joseph Goodall Lucas, Jr.



Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.



Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Gloster Street Church of Christ with Minister Chad Ramsey officiating. Graveside services will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.



Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and residents at Leeper House at Traceway and cousins, Guy Lucas and Jerry Lucas.



Memorials may be made to the Pine Vale Children's Home, 1872 County Road 700, Corinth MS 38834.
