Mary West

Obituary for Mary Alice West Tupelo - Mary Alice Feemster West, 76, died Thursday, September 8, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born February 9, 1935 to John Houston and Ruth Newman Feemster. She grew up in Corinth but moved to Tupelo where she graduated from Tupelo High School in 1952. She then attended Itawamba Community College and The University of Mississippi where she pledged Delta Gamma Sorority. She received her bachelors degree from Mississippi State College for Women in 1956. Her life was spent taking care of her family whom she greatly loved. A private service for the family will be held Saturday at W.E. Pegues with Rev. Jim Curtis officiating. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, James A. West of Tupelo; her three children, Anna Howard of Pontotoc, Will West (Elizabeth) of Tupelo , and John West (Sonya) of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Ashley Carmack, Alexia Long, Robert Howard, Alex West, John David West, Joseph West, Houston West, and Mary Collins West; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Finch, Parker Swords, and Manning Swords. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
