MARTHA WILLIAMS TANNER
Verona, Carr Vista - Martha Ann Williams Tanner, 72, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born May 30, 1944, to Elmer and Jettie Lansdell Williams. She worked for H.I.S. for 26 years, the 5 G's as a supervisor. She then retired to be able to spend time with her grandchildren and family. Martha was married to Aubrey Guy Tanner, the love of her life, for 54 years, and they were blessed with two children, five grandchildren and one great-grandson. She loved spending time with her family. Martha enjoyed sewing, working in her flower gardens, fishing with her husband and cooking. She truly had a servant's heart and was a member of Priceville Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Teresa Tanner Cash (Danny) of Saltillo; grandchildren, Justin Byrd of Tupelo, Rachel Alford (Neil) of Tupelo, Madison Tanner (Ryan), Ivy Tanner and Rushton Tanner all of Katy, Texas; one great-grandson, Canon Kolbe; sisters, Margie Palmer (Robert) of Eggville, Katie Roberts (Gerry) of Tupelo, Cleo Hurley (Raymond) of Eggville and Grace Jones (Danny) of Greenwood Springs; brothers, Jimmy Williams (Dorothy) of Eggville, Buddy Williams (Alice) of Saltillo, Thelbert Williams (Lori) of Eggville, Lenard Williams (Tammie) of Eggville, Mike Williams of Eggville and Nathen Williams (Denise) of Mooreville and a host of nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Jettie Williams; husband, Aubrey Tanner in August of 2016; son, Timothy Reid Tanner in October of 2015; mother and father-in-law, Manlie Whitman Tanner and Arvella Tanner Holcomb.
Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Following visitation there will be private family graveside services at Saltillo Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Williams, Buddy Williams, Thelbert Williams, Lenard Williams, Mike Williams, Nathen Williams, Justin Byrd, Rushton Tanner, Brad Smith and Chad Smith.
The family will like to give a special thanks to all of Martha's caregivers.
