Obituary for Marshall Adams Marshall Carruth Adams, of Belden, died Saturday, November 12, at Rosewood Residence after a sudden illness. He was born March 28, 1921 in Pontotoc, to the late Marshall T. and Willie Mae Fletcher Adams. Marshall graduated from Columbia Military Academy in Columbia, Tennessee and attended Ole Miss until his education was interrupted by Pearl Harbor. MC joined the Army Air Force and served as a pilot of a B-24 bomber in Europe in the Eighth Air Force. He attained the rank of First Lieutenant. After the war he returned to school and graduated with a degree in forestry from the University of Montana. He served as a forester, smoke jumper and bush pilot in the Northwest and Alaska. He returned to Mississippi where he pursued careers as a commercial pilot, carpenter and farmer. He was an avid amateur archeologist, artist and outdoorsman. He is survived by his son Edmund J. Adams of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris P. Adams, his son John Adams, his twin brother the Honorable George F. Adams and his sister Aileene Adams Brisco. Visitation will be at W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors, Jefferson Street, on Thursday, November 17, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Graveside service will be held for the family at Union Cemetery, in Belden, on Friday. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
