Tupelo formerly of Dayton, Ohio- Marie Smith Hutchinson, 95, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice Unit. She was previously living at Generation Assistant Living in Saltillo. On September 2, 1922, she was born to Elmer and Clara Matschikowski Smith in Dayton Ohio. She worked at General Motors/Frigidaire for 30 years. She married Ralph W. Hutchinson. She had two children and three generations of grandchildren. Marie enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Focht of Piqua, Ohio; one sister, Betty Bell of Miamisburg, Ohio and three generations of grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Hutchinson; her parents, Elmer and Clara Matschikowski Smith; son, Raymond Gammel, Jr.; one grandson, Leroy Simpson, III and three sisters, Flora Schroll, Florence Gebby and Edith Casanova.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Curtis Shelton officiating. Graveside services will follow at Unity Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Monday, April, 16, 2018, at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Dodson, Matt Barron, Stanley Hill, Darrell Cantrell, Austin Thompson, Michael Dodson and Conner Dodson.
The service will be live streamed and recorded for those who may not be able to attend at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
