Mae King
Saltillo - Willie Mae King, 81, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born March 10, 1936, to Virgle and Avo Brown Scruggs in Mooreville. She worked several years at the family’s business, King’s Grocery, in Palmetto. Mae was a machinist for 20 years at Tecumseh until her retirement. She enjoyed watching television, especially The Golden Girls, Joyce Myers and I. D. Mysteries. Mae was a member of Second Baptist Church, Tupelo.
Survivors include her son, Tim Loyd (Jan); sister, Dorothy Chunn; two brothers, Billy Wayne Scruggs (Scarlett), Jerry Scruggs (Sandra); nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Ricky Loyd.
Visitation will be from 3 until 6 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Gerald Gann officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
