Obituary for Louise Moreland Tupelo - Harriett Louise Moreland, 96, died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. A native of Cold Field, Tenn., she was born February 25, 1915 to Albert C. and Martha Butler. After moving to Tupelo, she worked for Long's Laundry and later at Midsouth Packing over 20 years. After her retirement, she began working at First United Methodist Church nursery where she served another 20 years. While she never had children of her own, she loved everybody elses children and enjoyed taking care of them. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Tupelo. Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Survivors include her niece, Sandra McGuire of Tupelo; her great-nephew, Michael McGuire (Lillian) of Tupelo; her great-niece, Angela McGuire of Hattiesburg; her great-great-nephew, Ethan McGuire; her sister, Ora Mae Gaskin of Marietta, Ga.; and several additional nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband C. T. Mooreland; two sisters, Eileen McKissick and Volena Duggins; and two brothers, Cecil Butler and A.C. Butler, Jr.. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael McGuire and Dr. Jack Foster, Bob Corban, and David White. Visitation will be noon to service time Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Helping Hands Ministry of First United Methodist Church, PO Box 854 Tupelo MS 38802.
