LISA SLAYTON POOLE
Tupelo - Lisa Fay Slayton Poole, 56, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief struggle with cancer. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 16, 1960, to Rev. Kenneth M. and Margie Milby Slayton. She graduated at the age of 16 from Valley High School. She was a cheerleading coach for Skeels Christian School in Michigan. On February 8, 2008, she married James Poole in Tupelo. A hobby that turned into a profession, Lisa "flipped" houses and invested in Real Estate. She was also an administrative assistant for an engineering firm for a short time. Lisa was very charismatic and never met a stranger. She was a member of Hope Church. Lisa loved to sing in the choir, and everyone especially loved her solos, but she always sang unto Jesus. Lisa enjoyed traveling with James, to Alaska and Canada, but especially to Mexico where there was ample sunshine. Lisa loved her church and her family, children and grandchildren. She always lit up the room when she walked in, and her beautiful smile will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband, James Poole of Tupelo; sons, Samuel Joseph Haase of Starkville and Andrew "B. J." Haase of Caledonia; step-children, John Clark Poole (Brittany) of Tupelo, Harrison Cole Poole (Nikki) of Southaven and Sarah Grace Poole of Tupelo; grandsons, Weston Clark Poole, Bentlee Michael Ray Haase and Maverick Hawk Poole; sister, Phyllis A.
