    Lisa Slayton Poole

    September 16, 1960 - April 30, 2017

LISA SLAYTON POOLE Tupelo - Lisa Fay Slayton Poole, 56, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief struggle with cancer. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 16, 1960, to Rev. Kenneth M. and Margie Milby Slayton. She graduated at the age of 16 from Valley High School. She was a cheerleading coach for Skeels Christian School in Michigan. On February 8, 2008, she married James Poole in Tupelo. A hobby that turned into a profession, Lisa "flipped" houses and invested in Real Estate. She was also an administrative assistant for an engineering firm for a short time. Lisa was very charismatic and never met a stranger. She was a member of Hope Church. Lisa loved to sing in the choir, and everyone especially loved her solos, but she always sang unto Jesus. Lisa enjoyed traveling with James, to Alaska and Canada, but especially to Mexico where there was ample sunshine. Lisa loved her church and her family, children and grandchildren. She always lit up the room when she walked in, and her beautiful smile will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband, James Poole of Tupelo; sons, Samuel Joseph Haase of Starkville and Andrew "B. J." Haase of Caledonia; step-children, John Clark Poole (Brittany) of Tupelo, Harrison Cole Poole (Nikki) of Southaven and Sarah Grace Poole of Tupelo; grandsons, Weston Clark Poole, Bentlee Michael Ray Haase and Maverick Hawk Poole; sister, Phyllis A. Galloway (Jay) of Louisville, Kentucky; brothers, Monty W. Slayton and Timothy L. Slayton (Debbie) of Louisville, Kentucky and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Hope Church with Rev. Scooter Noland officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers will be John Clark Poole, Mike Russell, Mike Perkins, Tim Slayton, David Leatherman and Allen "Thunder" Scott. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com.
