Obituary for Katherine Langley Tupelo M. Katherine Freeman Langley, 82, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born December 27, 1928, to Simon Curtis and Mamie Ann Strawbridge Freeman. A resident of Tupelo, she was a member of Old Union Baptist Church in Shannon where her husband serves as pastor. She was a devoted wife, loving helpmate and mother who stood faithfully by her husband's side throughout their ministry. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bert Harper and Rev. Howard Curbow officiating. Her son-in-law, Dr. David Greenhaw will deliver the eulogy. Private burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Bro. Billy M. Langley of Tupelo; her children, Beverly Greenhaw (Dr. David Greenhaw), Paul Langley (Angie) both of Booneville, David Langley (Traci) and Amy Ramage both of Tupelo; seven grandchildren, Bart Greenhaw (Anita) of Guntown, Leigh Smith (Chad) of Covington, Tenn., Dr. Brad Greenhaw (Ashleigh) of Charleston, S.C., Zach Langley (Lindsey) of Laurel, Cody Langley (Amber) of Booneville, Phoebe Parker and Kyle Ramage, both of Tupelo; seven great-grandchildren, Maddie Smith, Benjamin Smith, Christopher Smith, Jack Dawson Langley, Kathryn Ramage, Tripp Langley, and Landry Greenhaw; two sisters, Christine Francis and Bobbie Jean Frost (Rufus), both of Tupelo; and one brother, Garrel Mack "Doc" Freeman (Nancy) of Belden; and a special friend, Mark Greene of Tishomingo. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and their wives, Hoyt Freeman (Kay) and Kelby Freeman (Dorothy); and one brother-in-law, Floyd Francis. Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons and their wives of Old Union Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Old Union Baptist Church Building Fund, 113 CR 455, Shannon, MS 38868.
