Obituary for John Pittman Tupelo - John Pittman, 68, died Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Tylertown on August 15, 1943, to Thomas J. and Donys R. Pittman. He earned a degree in Accounting from the Mississippi State University. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served on the TCT Board for thirteen years and the MACA Board. He was a member of the Falls River Hunting Club. Private graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011, at Priceville Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Pittman; four children, Samantha P.Cox (David), Jenner P. Young, Jonathan A. Pittman (Hope), Justin D. Pittman, all of Tupelo; three brothers, Danny R. Pittman of Myrtle Beach, S. C., Joe A. Pittman of Macomb and Harry Pittman of Cleveland; six grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Samuel Reese Cox; his brother, Robert A. Pittman. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Catch Kids, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Sanctuary Hospice House.
