John Evans

JOHN AUSTIN EVANS   Master craftsman, John Austin Evans, age 71 of Blue Springs, MS, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016. His passion of restoring antique furniture and building fine reproductions resulted in him being a one-of-a-kind woodworker. Johnny, born on June 30, 1945, to the late Robert E. Evans and the late Maureen Evans of Tupelo, graduated from Tupelo High School in 1964 and Mississippi State University in 1969. He served six years in the United States Army Reserve. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Robert E. Evans, Jr. of Grenada, Mississippi. John was an uncle to four and a friend to many.   The family would like to honor John's wishes for no formal funeral service in his honor but welcome any friends to bring a favorite story to a celebration of his life at 1:00 p.m. on September 17, 2016 at his home.
