    June 16, 1948 - October 21, 2016

    Jimmy Clyde Bedford Tupelo - Jimmy Clyde Bedford, 68, passed away at his home surrounded by his family Friday, October 21, 2016. He was born  June 16, 1948, in Tupelo, Mississippi to Hoyle W. Bedford and Pauline Malone. He married his loving wife, Ellie M. Bedford in 1979. He retired from the Tupelo Fire Dept in 1995 from Fire Station No. 1. Jimmy spent most of his career as a fire fighter, worked in fire prevention, and worked with the State Fire Investigators. He served as President of the Mississippi Antique Car Club. Jimmy was a antique Ford car and truck collector and also collected parts. He enjoyed going to classic car shows around the country and spending time with his family and beloved blue heeler, Blue. Services honoring Mr. Bedford's life will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2016, at the Saltillo Chapel of  W.E. Pegues with Bro. Mike Bedford and Bro. Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Springs Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Ellie M. Bedford; son, Nathan Bedford (Candice); mother, Pauline Bedford all of Tupelo; sister Linda Lundy (Tom) of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; niece, Amanda Mutz (Tom); great niece, Ava Mutz; great nephew, Owen Mutz of Atlanta, Georgia; 2 special aunts, Sue Bedford, Dot Mason (John Allen) of Tupelo and uncle G.W. Bedford (Tommie) of Warner Robins, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Hoyle Bedford, and 3 uncles Carl Bedford of Mobile, Alabama, Earnest Bedford and Leroy Bedford of Tupelo. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time on Monday, October 24,2016, at W.E. Pegues, Saltillo. Pallbearers are Chris Hutcheson, Corey Reynolds, Clint Wright, Jason Wilson, Jay Hawkins, Josh Rupert. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com.
