JERRY BRISTOW     Tupelo - Gerald Mitts "Jerry" Bristow, 83, passed away May 14, 2016, at his home in Tupelo. He was born October 24, 1932, in Tupelo to Robert Clifton "Dink" and Cleo Mitts Bristow. He graduated from Tupelo High School and Mississippi State University and was an avid Mississippi State fan. Jerry served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He took great pride in his work as a real estate appraiser. Jerry loved riding his tractor and bush hogging his pasture land in Bristow Acres. He enjoyed his many friends at his morning coffee club and at his Saturday afternoon get-togethers at Jefferson Place, Stables and Romie's. In his free time, he enjoyed slow-pitch softball and chunkin' horseshoes with his friends. GTHOM   Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2016, at St. James Catholic Church in the Shelton Hall.   Services with military honors will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at St. James Catholic Church in Tupelo with Father Lincoln Dall officiating. A graveside service will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.   Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Pat Bristow of Tupelo; sons, Will Bristow (Erin) of Saltillo and Dan Bristow (Christy Murphy) of Tupelo; daughter, Katie Bristow Daniels (Henry) of Tupelo; grandchildren, Miller Bristow, Daniel Bristow and their mother, Shelley Bristow, Leighton Bristow, Carson Bristow, Victoria Bristow and their mother, Tara Olmsted, Lillian Bristow, Cleo Bristow, Emma Kate Daniels, Harrison Daniels and Mollie Tess Daniels; sister, Mitzi Moore; beloved mother-in-law, Tessie P. Cozart.   He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Van Bristow.   Pallbearers will be Billy Hodges, Doyle Harris, Jimmy Langley, Paul Lowe, Tommy Morgan, Joe Smith, Jimmy Smith, Morris Miley, Troy Whitenton, Phil Poe, Mike Wilcheck and Don Greene.   Honorary pallbearers will be St. James Saints Softball teammates, morning coffee club friends and Jefferson Place, Stables and Romie's friends.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Van Bristow Memorial Scholarship, c/o MSU Foundation, PO Box 6149, Mississippi State, MS 39762.   Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
