James R. White
Columbus- James Ray White, 74, died Sunday, November 7, 2021. The son of Herman Guinn White and Johnnie Opal Leslie White; was born on November 15, 1946. James served his country in the United States Army. He was a combat veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict. During his military time, he was a Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol with 24 dangerous missions. After the war, he graduated from the University of Memphis with his degree in Business. James loved being outdoors, playing pickleball and being with family and friends. He is a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church in Steens, Mississippi.
James was survived by one brother, Bill White and his wife, Linda of Clinton; sister-in-law, Janice White of Fulton; nephews, Mike White and his wife, Tracey of Tupelo; Bobby White, Jr. and his wife, Amanda of Fulton, Jeff White of Corinth; and Mark White of Fulton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bobby White, Sr.
A private family graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Tupelo Memorial Park with Rev. James Black officiating.
