Hugh DuVall

December 22, 1944 — January 23, 2017

HUGH DuVALL   Saltillo - Hugh Douglas DuVall passed from this world into his heavenly home on January 23, 2017. His parents were the late Marvin Duvall, Sr. and Lamoys McMillen Duvall. He was raised in Mantachie and graduated from Mantachie High School. He furthered his education at Itawamba Jr. College and Mississippi State. His 35 year career as a "Telephone Man" started with Southern Bell Telephone, then Bell South, and finally AT&T, retiring in 2002 as the Area Manager of Installation and Repair for North Mississippi. He was a dedicated member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church for approximately 50 years, serving in many leadership roles. He was currently a Sunday school teacher, Worship Leader and choir member. He was always willing to use his beautiful voice for worship and praise.   A celebration Hugh's life will be held 1 p.m.Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 1328, Road 885, Saltillo, with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Hamner "Susie" DuVall, daughters, Susan May and Stacy Cobb, both of Saltillo, grandchildren, Meghan May Luttrell (Trae), Olivia May Bennett (Chris), Loghan J. May, Peyton Pigott and Jackson Cobb; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Luttrell and Georgia Bennett, all of Saltillo; brother, Marvin A DuVall, Jr. of Mantachie; sisters, Sara Eickerman of Hansville, WA, Betty D. King of New Albany, Ruth Fields of Verona, Martha Whitehead of Shannon, Patricia DuVall of Saltillo and Elizabeth J. Duncan of Batesville.   He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nona Hill-Gold and Ione D. Mills.   Pallbearers will be Loghan May, Peyton Pigott, Jackson Cobb, Trae Luttrell, Chris Bennett and Michael Hamner.   Honorary pallbearers will be B.J. Fields, Ken Houston, Hoyt Richey, John Wigginton, Charles Owen, Jeff May, Randy Wigginton and Tom Swindle.   Memorials may be made to the Oak Hill UMC Building Fund, c/o Ed Brown, 116 Hereford Dr., Tupelo, MS 38804.   Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
