Tupelo- Helen J. Dye, 80, died Friday, January 27, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House after lengthy illness. She was born August 16, 1936, in Guntown to James Leonard and Ollie Mae Johnson Wigginton. Earlier in her life Helen watched and babysat children of all ages. She was married to Charles Dozier until his death in May 20, 1979. She later married Rev. Rufus Dye on January 29, 1982. They were married until his death in March of 1998. Helen was a born again believer who lived by her faith in Jesus Christ and was a longtime member of the Skyline Baptist Church family. Helen loved to watch game shows like the "Price is Right", doing seek and find puzzles and later in her life playing dominos and bingo with her friends at the nursing home. She also especially enjoyed taking care of her daughter Kathy.

She is survived her two daughters, Kathy D. Dozier of Tupelo and Brenda G. Sparks (David) of Tupelo; one son, Andy Dozier (Leigh) of Plantersville; two daughters, Pat Tuggle of Brewer and Dale Mills of Baldwyn; one son, Gene Dye (Janice) of Dorsey; five grandchildren, Brad Gilmore of Tupelo, David Sparks Jr., of Tupelo, Lanna Grace Dozier, Jacob Dozier and Jason Dozier; numerous niece and nephews and also the entire Dye family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; her first husband, Charles Dozier and her second husband Rev. Rufus Dye.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2017, at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo with her son Rev. Andy Dozier officiating. Burial will follow in Eggville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Sparks, Sr., Lee Sparks, David Sparks, Jr., Marc Helms, Allen Melton and Josh Dye.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Dozier and Jason Dozier.

Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
