GWEN MURPHREE-HURD
Pontotoc - Gwen Murphree-Hurd, 54, earned her angels wings Friday, January 15, 2016, at her sister's residence after an extended illness. A life-long resident of Pontotoc, she was born February 1, 1961, to Wayne and Imogene Murphree. Gwen touched the lives of everyone she met with her radiant smile and generous heart. She loved reading and writing poetry and spent special time reading her Bible. Gwen will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Hurd; son, Jamie Wright (Holly); son-in-law, Curt Stegall; granddaughters, Deleasha Lipsey, Shaleigha Lipsey and Kyra Stegall; sisters, Sherry Loggins (Rickey), Durenda King and Kay Smith (Michael); many other step-children and step-grandchildren.
Our angel was greeted in heaven by her parents, daughter, Jessica Stegall and grandson, Xavier Wright.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues. Burial will be in Holcomb Cemetery.
