Obituary for Faye Wheeler Miller Tupelo Faye Wheeler Miller, 79, died Saturday, August 20, 2011, at the Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. An Itawamba County native, she was born March 15, 1932 to Chester Pierce and Lou Ethel Sheffield Cayson. She moved to Tupelo with her family in her early teens and had been a Tupelo resident since that time. She played on the girls state champion basketball team at Tupelo High School in the late 40s. She was an avid basketball fan and especially enjoyed the Mississippi State basketball teams and the Memphis Grizzlies. She was married 48 years, to John Henry Wheeler who preceded her in death in 1998. She later was married to Gaylord Miller who preceded her in death in 2001. She attended Verona United Pentecostal Church. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. John McAlister and Rev. Ben Raper officiating. Burial will be in Gilvo Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl and Debbie Wheeler, both of Tupelo, and Cindy Raper (Ben) of Plantersville; one brother, Joe Cayson of Fulton, three granddaughters, Camille Doler (Kevin) of Tupelo, Brandy Miles (Patrick) of Plantersville, and Sarah Raper of Plantersville; five great grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Doler, both of Tupelo, Anna Claire Prather of Saltillo, Jackson Doler of Tupelo, and Taylor Grace Miles of Plantersville; two sisters-in-law, Csrrie and Shirley Cayson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first and second husbands; one sister, Mildred Fasig; and one brother, John Trice Cayson. Pallbearers will be Ryan, Kyle and Kevin Doler, Gary and Mike Cayson, and Trice Fasig. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011 at the funeral home.
