Obituary for Earl Estes Tupelo - Earl Estes, 71, died Monday, January 2, 2012, at his residence after an extended illness. A life-long Lee County native, he was born June 28, 1940 to Earl Fredrick and Edna Mae Estes. He was a truck driver and very proudly served thirteen years as a volunteer with the Forrest Service. He was a member of West Mooreville Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors and his dog, Buddy. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Mr. Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Charlene McCarty Estes of Tupelo; three sons, Steve Estes (Teresa) of Tupelo, Bubba Estes (Tina) of Tupelo and Shane Estes (Karen) of Pheba; six grandchildren, Steven and Hannah Estes, Heather Troy (Jimmy), Thomas Marks (Britney), Kaleigh Shane Estes and Eric Thomas Estes; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronnie Estes (Angie) of Mooreville; special uncle, G.C.Rhudy and wife, Jane. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Kevin Holloway, Chance and Todd McCarty, Richard Rhudy, Chad Bishop and Josh Estes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Noah Comer and Ken McCarty. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com
