Connie M. Morgan

Connie Mae Hester Morgan, 86, passed peacefully at Sanctuary Hospice House on Thursday, July 11, 2019.  Connie was born in Nettleton, March 7, 1933 to Verdo Mansell and Annie Lee Harris Hester. On December 22, 1951, she married John “Hugh” Morgan and they set down permanent roots in Verona.

Connie spent much her time gardening and caring for her family.  She is remembered by her family and friends as one full of life who kept an immaculate home.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Morgan Calderon and her husband, Joe, of Riverside, California; son, Randy Morgan of Plantersville; six grandchildren, Zachary Calderon, Jason Morgan, Jeff Morgan, Marty Morgan, Millie Morgan, and Abby Young; six step-grandchildren, Selena Lyle and Elisa, Alliyah, Ally, Anica and Brianna Garcia; and four great-grandchildren, Charlie Beth Morgan, Piper Morgan, Harper Young and Harrison Young.

She was preceded in death by her life-long love, Hugh; one grandson, Matthew Morgan; and daughter-in-law, Ashley Morgan.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time Sunday, July 14, 2019 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Jimmy Henry officiating. Private burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Calderon, Jason Morgan, Jeff Morgan and Marty Morgan.

Services will be live streamed and recorded for those who may not be able to attend at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
