Carolyn "Lil Mo" Moran

December 25, 1943 — May 26, 2019

Carolyn "Lil' Mo" Moran, 75, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. A native and lifelong resident of Lee County, she was born December 25, 1943, to Earl Lavern and Ethel Beam Waddle. Carolyn married the love of her life and best friend, Charles "Tommy" Moran, and they shared 55 wonderful years. Earlier in her life, she worked at Joe Carlisle's chicken hatchery for a number of years. She later worked over 20 years for Tupelo Orthopedic Clinic as a bookkeeper before she and her husband, "Big Mo", started their own business known as Mo's Grocery & BBQ which was established in 1992. Carolyn loved bowling and fishing, and watching NASCAR as she was an avid Bill Elliott fan. She especially loved attending the Talladega 500 and staying on the infield in their mobile home. She and her husband attended nearly every race from 1982 through 2012 when her health began to decline. Carolyn's zest for life, outgoing personality and sweet spirit touched so many lives. Her family was her greatest joy, especially her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Tommy Moran of Tupelo; daughter, Kimberly Moran Post and her husband, Rob of Tupelo; son, Bryan Moran of Tupelo; grandchildren, Devon Moran (Casey) of Tupelo and Charleigh Roberson of Shannon; great-grandchild, Rivers Moran; two sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Hare of Plantersville and Linda Montague of Saltillo; brother, Benny Waddle of Nettleton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ethel Waddle; and sister, Peggy Parker.
