Obituary for Bill Lee Saltillo - Robert E. Bill Lee, 80, died Friday, August 19, 2011, at his residence after an extended illness. A native of Lee County, he was born January 29, 1931, to Ermon and Leora Van Buskirk Lee. He served in the US Army during the 1950's and was employed 47 years with Tombigbee Electric Company, retiring in 1994. A member of Saltillo's First United Methodist Church, he was also affiliated with The Gideons International since 1970 and served in prison ministry for over 35 years. He enjoyed hunting until his health began to decline. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2011 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Loretta Lee of Saltillo; his daughter, Nancy Kitchens (Barry Grasshopper) and son, Robert A. Lee (Melinda), all of Saltillo; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristina, Kevin, and Kenneth Lee; and one great-grandson, Peyton Cody. Pallbearers will be Prentiss Lanphere, Jerry Gore, Dewayne Davis, Terry Bentley, Brad Vanlandingham, and Ricky Edwards. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
