Obituary for Betty Peters Tupelo - Betty Sue Conlee Peters, 76, died Monday, September 12, 2011, at the Countrywood Plantation in Mantachie after an extended illness. A Plantersville native, she was born June 30, 1935 to Walter Monts and Mary Ruby Kelly Conlee. She was a 1953 grauate of Plantersville High School. She worked over 35 years for the Peoples Bank and Trust Company, retiring in the proof department. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Plantersville, she actively taught 2 and 3 year olds in Sunday School, worked in the nursery, and was a member of the Aleene's Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She enjoyed traveling with her family to the mountains. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Danny Balint officiating. Burial will be in Plantersville Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, James "Buddy" Peters of Tupelo; her son, Hilton Peters (Dana) of Plantersville; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
