Starkville - Betty Lou Dykes, 60, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born January 27, 1956, to Lonnie Ervin and Christine Dunn Edmonds. Betty was a homemaker who loved puzzle books, Nancy Drew books and the colors pink and purple. In her spare time Betty listened to music, made crafts and looked at art. She was a member of a nondenominational church and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her children, Charles Dykes, Vera Dykes, Victoria Spragin (Dongarn), William Dykes; sister, Elvie Edmonds; grandchildren, Dongarn Jr. Laquesha Cunningham, Zhykasha Jones, Anastayzha Lucious, Antonio Lucious Jr., Shinji Spragin, Braylyn Dykes, Elizabeth Dykes and Easten Dykes.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Glenn Edmonds.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday, October 27, 2016, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Jefferson Street Chapel. A graveside service will follow in Odd Fellows cemetery in Starkville, Mississippi.
