ALVIN STEPHENS Tupelo - Alvin Taylor Stephens, son of the late Dave Early Stephens and Lila Mae Crump Stephens, born on December 18, 1932 in Golden, Mississippi. Alvin was called to eternal rest at 7:10 a.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. He attended Tupelo High School and served four years in the United States Navy. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements. Alvin leaves to cherish his memories: three sons, Doug Stephens (Sara) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Matt Stephens (Kim) of Burleson, Texas, Greg Stephens (Donna) of Grand Prairie, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Suzie Stephens of Saint Louis, Missouri; three brothers, Harry Earl Stephens of Dallas, Texas, Thomas Wayne Stephens of Burleson, Texas, and Billy Myrl Stephens of Okolona, Mississippi; one sister Peggy Sue Boote of Forth Worth, Texas; several grandchildren; several nieces; several great-nieces; and several great great-nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Stephens of Saint Louis, Missouri ; three brothers, David Howard of Lawton, Oklahoma, Quincy O'Neal of Phoenix, Arizona, Johnny Quitman of Grand Rapids Michigan; three sisters, Martha Ann Bratton of West Point, Mississippi, Nancy Juanita Ledford of Burleson, Texas, Lila Jeannette Ratliff of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi.
