    Alvin Lee Vinson

    November 23, 1931 - June 11, 2016

    Alvin Lee Vinson Saltillo - Alvin Lee Vinson, 84, went to his heavenly home Saturday, June 11, 2016, at his home. He was born November 29, 1931, to Delmer Lee and Eunie Clytee Morgan Vinson. Alvin was the Co-Owner of Loden and Vinson Garage and Wrecker Service for 37 years. Alvin enjoyed driving cars and fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was in the United States Marine Corp and served during the Korean Conflict. Alvin was a 32nd degree Mason and Scottish Rite for over 50 years. He was a faithful member of Belden United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joyce Vinson of Saltillo; children, Steve Vinson (Vicki) of Americus, Georgia, Cindy Springer (Neal) of Olive Branch and Paula (Doug) Dickey of Tupelo; sister, Norma Westmoreland of Saltillo; grandchildren, Aaron Worley (Debbie), Stephen Vinson (Jennifer), Ashley Vinson, Doug Dickey, Jr. (Heather), Anna Dickey, Mandy Reed (Bryan) and Preston Springer (Ashely) and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, with visitation one hour prior, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Danny Wilburn and Rev. Debra Lay officiating and Rev. Steve Vinson providing the eulogy. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Johnny Pannell, Wayne Scott, Wayne Hughes, Gene Timmons, Mike Hall and Steven Hazard. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Vinson, Preston Springer, Aaron Worley, Doug Dickey, Jr., Bryan Reed and Phil Westmoreland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Belden United Methodist Church, 5157 Endville Rd., Belden, MS 38826. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com.
