Shannon - Aileen Gilmore, 82, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice. She was born August 26, 1934 to Ira and Evelyn Baker in Tupelo, Mississippi.



Aileen was a Lee County resident all her life. She spent numerous years working at Lambs Nursing Home, Cedars Health Center, Tupelo Manor and Lee Manor as a nurse's aide, cook and laundry. Aileen was raised in the Baptist faith and attended Methodist church, but she always remained a Baptist at heart. She loved her flowers and cared for them inside and out. Aileen even won blue ribbons for her double begonia at the Mississippi Alabama Fair. She was also an excellent cook, especially her cakes and pies.



Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Gilmore of Brewer; son, Donnie Gilmore (Donna) of Saltillo; brother, Billy Baker of Saltillo; five grandchildren, Dedra Long of Ingomar, Donnie Gilmore, Jr. (Ashley) of Mooreville, Chris Gilmore of Mooreville, Melissa Gilmore of Tupelo and Dustin Pannell of Saltillo; and 12 great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Clara Faye Clark.



Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, Tupelo with Brother Chris Stacks officiating. Burial will be in Brewer Cemetery.



Pallbearers will her grandsons and great-grandsons.



Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
